There are so many things to consider when buying or selling a home. If you’re thinking it’s time to buy your first home, upgrade or downsize, here are a few helpful tips to consider as you enter into the home buying or selling process.
Work with a Realtor For most people, buying or selling a home is the largest financial decisions made in their lifetime, don’t do that alone!! Working with a Real Estate Professional, like myself, puts a licensed professional in your corner! It’s my job to know the market, laws, contracts, ethics and process. It’s my commitment to alleviate stress and protect you and your investment!
Get pre-approved. Getting pre-approved as a buyer, can save time and disappointment. In today’s market, a pre-approval is essential. Homes are selling quickly, and you put yourself in a better position to quickly make an acceptable offer when you’re pre-approved. Unlike pre-qualification, which is based on a cursory review of your finances, pre-approval from a lender is based on your actual income, debt and credit history. By doing a thorough analysis of your actual spending power, you’ll be less likely to get in over your head. I never want to show my client a home they can’t afford!
If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and professional lender, let me help you with that too! I work with some amazing lenders, but my #1 is Flora Biscotto, with Fairway Mortgage. Contact Flora at (817) 881-2294 or firstname.lastname@example.org, be sure to tell her Eric sent you!
Communicate Communication is the key to a great partnership. Before you make an offer on a home or decide on a listing price for a home you’re selling, have a conversation with your Realtor about the price and where that number falls in comparison to SIMILAR SOLD homes in the neighborhood. If your Realtor has not done market research on the sales trends of similar homes in the neighborhood, ask them to or seek a second opinion. Your Realtor should always be able to help you understand the process!
